INTRODUCTION

Allowing someone to assist you in your financial affairs is an important decision, one that cannot be taken lightly. As you search for such an individual, you need to be sure that the person you select has a number of qualities: (1) appropriate knowledge and experience, (2) trust and (3) strict confidence.

Gary A. Lewis, CFP®, ChFC®, CASL®: Gary is a native of Countryside having first moved here in 1964. After many years of working in cities across the continent, Gary has returned to Countryside.

Gary received his education at St. Cletus, Lyons Township H.S., U of Illinois at Chicago (BA), Northwestern U (MBA - finance) and The American College (financial certifications). Since 1988, he has worked in the financial services industry working mostly as a financial planning analyst. Later he served as financial planning director for several large institutions. He is currently focusing his attentions to “aging-in-place” work. This has led him to offer Daily Money Management (DMM) services to seniors and others who need assistance in daily financial activities.

Daily Money Management: The Daily Money Manager does not manage investments nor does he advise on financial issues. The manager performs the regular financial tasks that must be attended to each month. These tasks include:

1. Sorting and organizing personal and business mail

2. Reviewing monthly expenditures for accuracy and potential fraud

3. Preparing checks for client signature

4. Making bank deposits as needed

5. Mailing bills and other mails at post office

6. Balancing checking and other financial accounts

7. Preparing monthly/quarterly or annual budget statements

8. Organizing tax information for tax preparer.

The manager can also assist the client in other tasks such as:

1. Picking up prescriptions

2. Picking up laundry/groceries/other



PRICING

Daily Money Management services are billed on a per hour. Discounts may be offered to seniors and for groups of individuals living in the same facility.  Those wishing long-term contracts can maintain a set monthly fee established at the beginning of the engagement.

Travel to and from the client residence is billable at 15 minutes (round-trip) for the local area (within a three mile radius of Countryside). Additional time may be charged when picking up prescriptions, laundry, groceries and other extraordinary tasks. No additional time is charged for delivery of mail to post office or making bank deposits.


ETHICS HISTORY

Ethics is the cornerstone of the “Guardian Angel Protection” philosophy that Gary adheres to. Gary’s main interest is helping seniors age successfully in place.

Gary Lewis has never been involved in any unethical or questionable practice. No client or company complaints have ever been made against Gary Lewis or any firm that Gary has operated. Gary’s current regulatory filings are available upon request.


CONFLICTS OF INTEREST

Gary Lewis may also provide financial planning services for existing clients and client referrals. Gary does not currently offer financial planning services to the public.

Gary Lewis does not receive compensation in the form of commissions, rebates or other fees.

Gary Lewis is free of Conflicts of Interest.


WHAT DO THE LETTERS AFTER GARY’S NAME MEAN?

CFP®. Certified Financial Planner. A certification requiring extensive coursework and successful passing of a two-day exam. Continuing education and perfect ethics required.

ChFC®. Chartered Financial Consultant. A certification requiring additional education beyond the CFP requirements. Continuing education and ethics requirements similar.

CASL®. Certified Adviser for Senior Living. Additional education focused on retirement planning and senior issues. Continuing education and ethics rules apply.
